2017 City of Swift Current Property Tax Notices to be sent out soon

The City of Swift Current wishes to advise the public that 2017 Tax Notices have been completed, and property owners within the City should be receiving their notices by the end of June. The due date for payment is July 31, 2017 to avoid any penalty.

Residential taxpayers will notice this year that the annual Hospital Levy of $100.00 has been removed following the completion of those payments. In its place, beginning this year there will be a $35.00 annual charge for the Long Term Care Facility Levy.

If you are signed up for our monthly Preauthorized Payment Plan, your balance will continue to be paid through your monthly payments. You will receive an Electronic Funds Transfer notification detailing your new monthly payments separate from your 2017 Tax Notice.

There is an option to pay your taxes online, allowing you to avoid line-ups at City Hall and make your payment at your convenience. Please check with your financial institution to learn their procedure for processing payments by this method.

When setting up for payment through online banking at your financial institution, please ensure the Account Number for Online Banking is used (this number can be found at the top right corner of your Tax Notice). This will ensure any payments the City receives via this method will be processed efficiently in our system. Every property that receives a Tax Notice will have a unique Account Number for Online Banking assigned to it.

Please note that online property tax payments take a minimum of two business days to process.

If you have any questions, please contact the Taxation Department at 306-778-2703 or 306-778-2704.
