most community residents to volunteer. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
 Hospitality  Information
 Parking Lot Attendants  Ushers
 Family Activation Event  Logistics

Safe Places and Respect Group, with support from Scotiabank, are running the Sheldon Kennedy Youth
Outdoor Classic as part of Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada. The purpose of the tournament is to promote our
Safe Places program which focuses on making our community a safer place for children and youth. Therefore,
we would like to offer members of the community, including volunteers, parents and fans, the opportunity to
take the online Respect in Sport training or become Safe Places – Youth Certified free of charge as part of the
Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada celebrations. Anyone that takes advantage of our free training, before
February 1st, will receive a personal copy of Sheldon Kenendy’s book, ‘Why I didn’t Say Anything’.

Please contact Safe Places Manager Kelly Schafer at for your free access code and
steps to become Safe Places – Youth Certified.
