CAMPS (Chinook Alternative Middle Plus School) - "Where All Kids Are a Success"
Located centrally, CAMPS supports students referred by their community school who are aged 12 to 15 and having difficulty in the existing school situation due to social, emotional and/or behavioural issues. The intent of the program is transition, with the student returning to the community school once skills are developed to the point where the student can meet with success.
Teachers or parents refer students to the administrator of their community school. The referral allows for the identification, program planning, monitoring and evaluation of each student. The CAMPS vision is that each of the students participate fully, experience success and human dignity while developing the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to contribute meaningfully to society.
