The goal of the United Way Active Play after school program is to provide a safe, supervised program for children to be physically active and have fun while learning about healthy choices such as exercise, nutrition and wellness.
Due to the pandemic, there have been some changes made to this program in that it is now open to all students from any school and is held at the Lt. Col. Clifton Centre. This program is offered on Tuesdays for students in grades 1-2 and then on Thursdays for students in grades 3-5. The United Way Active Play program will run for 6 weeks beginning Feb.1 and running until Mar. 17. There is no cost to this fun program!
The online registration will open on January 18 at 8:00 am. The first 30 students will be registered in the program.
This program was the 2014 national recipient of the “Speaking of Food and Healthy Living” Award.
