Being Senior focuses entirely on the 65+ residents of our community and engages in information sharing about what works for them. The City formed a Being Senior Advisory Team with representatives of the Cypress Health Region, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council, and Riverview Village Estates, to work together to develop a series of public meetings that would provide seniors with an opportunity to learn about programs and services in our community, and to share ideas and issues that could help make Swift Current a better place for us all.

In our third session of Being Senior, we'll take a look at how to identify and prevent the number one crime committed against seniors in Canada: Fraud. Seniors are the most common target of fraudsters in Canada, according to our Federal Government, and these presentations are designed to empower our local seniors with the tools to make sure it doesn't happen to them!

We are very fortunate to be partnering with the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism to deliver these presentations, which are free and open to the public.
