Learning how to ride a bike can be a fun and exciting opportunity for young and old! However riding a bike comes with risks, to get the best "wheels" forward the City of Swift Current Community Services Division has exciting areas to learn how to ride your bike, learn the hand signals and we host an event each year to provide hands on information and tons of fun!
See our 5 outdoor rinks in the summer, we have a bike safety course painted for kids to cruise through. These courses allow them to gain the confidence of riding before heading out on the sidewalks and avoids being near traffic! Find an outdoor rink near you....
North Hill Rink (ACT Park) 700 4th Avenue NE
Highland Rink Maxwell Drive
Southside Rink 267 3rd Avenue SE
Westside Rink 3rd Avenue NW
Sheldon Kennedy Rink (Riverdene) North Hill Drive
NEW to our community is the Kiwanis Bike Park, located along the chinook parkway on 13th Ave NE, access to this bike park can be made from Riverdene Park. Children can ride their bikes on a paved path, where stops signs, stop lights and so much more can be found! Thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current for their contributions to this fun bike park!
After watching this video, it's time to practice your skills! Head out along the NEW Kiwanis Chinook Parkway or to one of the five bike courses at the outdoor rinks: Southside, Riverdene, ACT, Westside, or Highland. You are “READY TO RIDE!”
