Hydrant Flushing

The City of Swift Current follows a hydrant flushing program each spring.  This will clear and flush out the distribution system.  Your drinking water is safe during this time.

This annual program is necessary to remove sediment that accumulates in the watermains.  It allows crews to operate, inspect, and maintain all of the fire hydrants to ensure that they are working properly. Any information about Hydrant Flushing will be posted on this website and announced on local radio.
