DEMOLITION PERMITS

(PROPERTIES WHERE NO BUILDING/STRUCTURE IS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED) 

Building Bylaw Requirements and

Approval Process

  1. Complete a Demolition Permit Application form for the Demolition.

  2. Pay all of the taxes on the building, or portion thereof. 

  3. Pay the $50.00 Permit Fee, and ensure the demolition is complete within 6 months from the date of permit issuance.

  4. Finally, clean up the property, and disconnect the water and sewer.  This is done at your own expense.

  5. The city will disconnect the water and electrical meter—2 days notice is required (306-778-2731).  SaskEnergy will disconnects gas meters.  These services are provided at no charge.  Contact SaskEnergy (306-778-4151) regarding charges for terminating gas lines at the main.

NOTE

 

The issuing of a permit does not exempt the contractor/owner from compliance with any Bylaws, Statutes or Regulations that may be applicable.

A contractor/owner, which is found to contravene any Bylaw, Statute or Regulation, may have the permit revoked.

A permit shall not be deemed an endorsement by the City of Swift Current of the contractors business practices.
