PURPOSE:

To establish fair and consistent rates of compensation for property owners who have recently had a driveway crossing, curb crossing, curb or sidewalk installed at their expense, and Local Improvements have been approved for the area abutting their property.

POLICY:

To qualify for compensation the existing driveway or curb, gutter and sidewalk must have been installed by the City or constructed using the specifications provided by the Swift Current Engineering Department. Compensation will only be paid if the property owner can satisfactorily establish the date of installation of the original driveway or curb, gutter or sidewalk.

The compensation will be calculated using the City’s current rate for driveway or curb, gutter and sidewalk installation. The rate of compensation will be as outlined below:

Any driveway or curb, gutter and sidewalk more than ten (10) years old will not receive any compensation.
