The new Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter known as Dories House being built in Swift Current will be fully sprinklered using an Uponor residential fire sprinkler system designed for dwelling type occupancy.  This system is being installed by employees from Len's Plumbing and Heating, Swift Current Co-op Plumbing, and Swift Plumbing and Heating with the installation being supervised by Tom Westbury of Len's Plumbing and Heating.  Although the youth shelter is located in an area not requiring sprinklers and is only one block from the fire hall, Tom felt that sprinklers would add a high level of safety to our at risk youth who will use the shelter.  The Swift Current Fire Department is a strong supporter of residential sprinkler systems and is working with the project manager to ensure this building is a safe shelter for users of the facility for years to come.

On August 24th, representatives from Uponor and the Swift Current Fire Department visited the site to review the installation and lend their support to the project and the Westbury family who are leading this project.
